My Profile

I graduated with a degree in sculpture and went straight into teaching and worked as an Art teacher for several years, never really pursuing my own art work. I always considered myself as a teacher rather than an artist and it wasn't until I had three little children that I started to make my own work.

I learnt some basic printmaking skills while I was teaching and loved it, but didn't have access to a press so was a little bit lost. I then randomly discovered gel plates and have worked solely with them since.

Everything has come from trial and error and I am discovering new possibilities all the time.

The natural world, and especially trees, has always been the primary source of inspiration but I am now starting to explore a wider range of subject matter, including buildings, figures and animals and really push myself out of my comfort zone.
